Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Florida

I recently found out I have incorrect information on my criminal background check. I have all the proof that it was incorrect (court records, judges orders etc.). After arguing with the entity that was reporting it incorrectly, they say that it has been corrected. However this information has been on my background for 16+ years. I have been denied numerous jobs, rental property and no telling what else due to their incompotent error. I am looking for a lawyer that can help me negotiate a settlement with this company and make sure that it has been corrected as I have been told. I am not afraid to go to court if need be. I am unsure of what kind of attorney I would need to help me get this done. Any help is appreciated.
