Legal Question in Health Care Law in Florida

I was involved in a near fatal motorcycle crash May 7,2009. I have since learned that my soon to be former spouse brought in a total stranger to SICU without my prior knowlege or consent. This individual is living in my soon to be former home without paying any money for rent, food, utilities, etc. I was not aware of this arrangement prior to the crash. There are other issues that I have recieved some guidance as to how to legally proceed.

So the question is does her bringing in a total stranger into my situation, telling the hospital staff that he was 'her son' constitute a HIPPA violation? And if so, can I bring charges against her without involving the hospital? I am a licensed health care professional who does contracted work with the hospital in question, therefore I do not wish to jeopardise my professional relationship with them.

Thank you for your advice

I do not believe there is any enforcement mechanism against a non-health care provider, even assuming tis was a HIPPA violation, which is not clear.
