Legal Question in Health Care Law in Florida

Pregnancy rights

My sister is 36weeks and 5 days pregnant she has had pre-eclampsia and hypertension for 3 weeks she has been back and forth staying 2-3 days at a time in the hospital which is 45 mins. away she also has 2 other children to think about. She is very concerned about the health risk involved with her condiyion the Dr. originally said he would deliver her today now he wants to wait but has no medical explanation as to why. She still has high blood pressure and feels the risk of early delivery is less then that of continued hyper tension and high blood pressure. Doe's she have the right to choose to be induced to protect herself and the baby she is alrready dilating 2 cm on her own but she is concerned because her blood pressure is still climbing and she has 2 other children to care for. What are her rights regarding this matter?

Re: Pregnancy rights

She cannot force the doctor to induce labor. She can request to be seen by another doctor, but she may have difficulty at this late date getting someone to take over treatment.

Try to patiently and calmly talk to her doctor about why he or she recommends the treatment planned.
