Legal Question in Immigration Law in Florida

Biometrics appointment letter lost

I submitted N-400 for naturalization. Apparently, I was sent a letter from Application Support Center for biometrics appointment. I never received it. USCIS will process request to resend in up to 45 days. Will case be considered abandoned if I don't come to take biometrics in time as requested in letter I never got and what can I do to avoid it?

You will want to either call the USCIS 800 number or go to www.uscis.gov to schedule an infopass appointment to ensure that you are reset and the application is not denied as abandoned.

If you advised the USCIS of the fact that you did not receive the prior notice and they will be re-sending it to you, then the application will not be deemed abandoned. However, it sounds as if you called the National Customer Service Center and they took a regular inquiry. You should send a letter to the Regional Center where you filed the N-400 application or the best thing would be to schedule the InfoPass appointment and go to the local office so that they could make the inquiry within the Service. In this case the application will not be deemed abandoned.
