Legal Question in Immigration Law in Florida

Bringing French Fiance to come live in US?

My fiance and I met in Miami (where I currently live) in January. He has come a few times to visit me since then and we are in love & want to be married. I am a permanent resident (since 8/2006). Someone told me if we get married and apply he will need to leave to France until the papers go through (about 5 years I think) or wait until I get my citizenship in 3 years & upgrade. The problem is we don't want to be apart for so long..the traveling back and forth is very expensive and neither one of us makes a lot of money. Is there any way for him to stay here once we apply?

Aliens with perm. residency can sponsor their spouse.

Immigration law is very fact specific and it is unwise to give suggestions or advice without knowing the important facts. We have one attorney licensed in the US and Mexico who does most of our non-litigation immigration work. She charges for a consultation but you'd have answers you can rely on from a licensed and insured attorney, and the consultation if free if we work on your case.
