Legal Question in Immigration Law in Florida

I am English and was married to a US citizen for 4 1/2 years. We are now in the process of divorce. I have my permanent green card. I want to get my citizenship. Will being divorced make things difficult. I have no children?

Not necessarily. Since you are a permanent resident without conditions, it is likely that the effect of the dissolution of your marriage will be the length of time that you will have to wait for your citizenship application (5 years of residency as opposed to 3 years)

If you need assistance with your application for citizenship or with your dissolution contact a local attorney.
