my mother has received a notice of deportation because many years ago when she was married to my father they sent her a notice prior to where she was living, explaining to her that she had to present her self to immigration but my father never gave her the notice. And now when she has tried to become a resident the notice of deportatin has come out what can i do? Can i claim my mother so she can become an american citizen since Iam?

Re: Immigration

Now, what exactly do you mean she has received a "notice of deportation"? Do you mean a hearing notice for the immigration court? A letter advising she has to leave? or what? On what basis was she applying for residency? And yes you can certainly petition for your mom and you should do it right away if she has no other petitioner waiting in the wings! Depending on what kind of notice she has received, and depending on whether she entered this country without inspection, there may be something that can be done with a motion to reopen your mom's case. I suggest you latch on to a good immigration lawyer to help you. Good luck!
