Legal Question in Immigration Law in Florida

to become us sitizen

I don't have any family in US. I am going to school in Florida... I have about 2 years left... I have been here for about 4 years.... all my life is here now... my friends, my school, my dreams.... I see more apportuninties for my life here then back home in Russia... It is not my fault that everything is so bad there, and i don't want to live my life like that... I want to stay here... But it is getting harder and harder to pay for my school with "out of state rate"..... So i don't even know if i will be able to graduate.... and i am so close to finishing my international business degree...

Is there any way for me to become US citizen????

Thank you for your help...

Natalia

Re: to become us citizen

First you have to become a permanent resident.

After getting your "green card", you then you have to have continuous residency in the US for 5 years.

Then you have to file and qualify for naturalization. The application process typically takes more than one year. Make a mistake on the application - you start over.

It is impossible to answer a question like this on the net. Spend some money and see a lawyer in person. Then you can get a "real" answer to the many questions that this "simple" question raised.
