Legal Question in Immigration Law in Florida

had visa,now have yankee kids
my swedish friend was here originally on a student visa and paid money for school but then they changed the laws while she was still going for her hair styling license and told her if she didnt have a SS# she couldnt get a license, and the govt wouldnt give her a # even tho she had been here legit etc.
now, about 6 years later she has 2 kids born in the US by her boyfriend ,who is an illegal argentine who has been here for at least 10 years or more.
My friends parents can provide her with income to show the govt if that would help.

Is there anything either of them can do to become legal?
Other than the green card lottery?
they really cannot afford an attorney,so please dont suggest only that.

245(i) is the only hope that I see, this requires an entry prior to 12-20-00 and a petition field on her behalf prior to 4-30-01

This requires an atty and a job offer
