Legal Question in Insurance Law in Florida

Insurance company file suit for damages

My son had been driving a vehicle registered in my name and let the insurance lapse. He was involved in an accident over a year ago and now the insurance company is filing suite against me to recover funds for damages. to the other vehicle. I have recieved a summons from the court and need to respond. I am a single divorce female with income high 30K and have no funds to hire an attorney or pay the insurance company. What are my rights and how do I respond. The officer at the scene of the accident did not find fault of the accident.

Re: Insurance company file suit for damages

You must hire an attorney. You should discuss your finances and be prepared to pay a reasonable fee and the damages for the accident to solve the problem. Next time, buy insurance and be happy no one was seriuosly injured or killed by your son.
