Legal Question in Juvenile Dependency in Florida

My father recently gave me his car to sell so that I could use the money to pay for my car insurance that I pay on the car that I drive now, my mother's old car. My mother sold my car for me for twelve thousand dollars. My mother claims that the money is legally hers because my father is behind on his child support payments. My father used to pay child support, but he was laid off a while ago and explained to my mother that he would not pay child support until he was financially able. My mother took no legal action, and accepted that he was not going to pay child support for the time being. When my parents split up they only had an oral agreement that my father was to pay child support, and they never went through court. I am a minor and I was curious if the money that was recieved from selling my father's car was legally hers or mine.
