Legal Question in Juvenile Dependency in Florida

job and warrants

A friend of mine ran away at 17 and has juvenile charges and a warrant for v.o.p. she is turning 18 in oct. her warrant is in FL. she now lives in NC. IS it possible for her to get a job when she turns 18 or will the warrants get her arrested on the job? Also will the warrants still be valid when she is 18? and will the warrants still be valid in another state?

Re: job and warrants

The Juvenile court will only have jurisdiction over her up to the day that she turns 19.

The warrant may stay in the system until it has been served on her. She could sit in NC for a while until she is transported back this way. Warrants are input into a nation wide system.

In order to give you some real advice I would need to know some more information, most importantly, what is the nature of the original charge? and what is the nature of the violation?

If this case occurred anywhere in the southern part of the state I would be glad to help or if not, steer you in the right direction.

take care,
