Legal Question in Employment Law in Florida

Change in salary with no notification from employer

At my 90 day probation meeting, my employer informed me that I was not right for the possition. My Employer demoted me to a lesser possition but never informed me that there was any change in salary, only title and continued to pay me the same salary for two week. Can My employer legally change my salary without any notification of doing so.?

Re: Change in salary with no notification from employer

Your employer can cut your pay (with certain exceptions for public employers, union employees or discriminatory motives) but they can't cut your pay retroactively. The pay cut is onoy effective from the time you get notice.

Unless there is a contract to the contrary, the answer is, "yes."
