Legal Question in Employment Law in Florida

How much can employer take from emplyee's tip earning?

I am currently working at a restaurant.

The employer/owner takes 50% of the servers' tip earning to pay the chefs (chefs told me they get paid about 1/3 of the promised salary from paycheck and rest comes from our tips).

The employer further takes additional 5% of our tip earnings to pay various kitchen and bar staff.

Then the additional 5% of earnings are taken to pay credit card processing fees, etc.

Are those legal and can employer take as much earning as they want as far as we are paid minumum wage?

I would have to speak with you further about this but it sounds like they are violating min wage statutes. Give me a call or e-mail if you wish to discuss further.
