Legal Question in Employment Law in Florida

employment

Is it considered harrassment in the workplace if a co-worker reports you to his boss for not talking to them about non-work related items? This person and his boss have reported me to my boss for not carrying on a personal conversation, they have gone through my desk without my permission and one of them has been caught lurking around the corner of my office listening to conversations among other things. Is it worth discussing this with an attorney? I am a female and they are both males.

Re: employment

No, unfortunately that is not sexual harassment that is actionable under state or federal law. I would just avoid these two people; engage in "weather talk" with them when they corner you; and not keep anything personal in your desk and/or lock it (if possible). If it gets too bad, you can always look for another job. But it sounds like you have no legal cause of action for sexual harassment at all. This is a human resources issues and really is a personality conflict/dispute. That's not something that you can sue for. Sorry!
