Legal Question in Employment Law in Florida

Fed Ex non- payment of employee training

Thanks for her help. I got hired at Fedex. I worked 2 days, the second day, the trainer pulled me to the side and said I was fired due to falsifying my application. I did not disclose a felony conviction (it was 8 years ago). the trainer said he would log in the hours, and i should expect a paycheck in two weeks. I have not gotten one, so i just called today, and Fedex said they are not going to pay me because I lied, and legally they don't have to. Is this true? OK, I'll admit, i didn't put it on the application, but isn't it on them to check before they hire me? I purposely asked the hiring manager if everything was ok, and she said, yes, come on in.

If they had done the hiring process accordingly, i would of never had worked the 14 hours. Please help, oh by the way, the ''driver'' who was training me that morning, in fact, said, ''good luck on getting your paycheck...it took almost a month to get mine when i was hired.'' Like I said, although i may have made a mistake, I think they are obligated to pay for my time.

The law requires them to pay you for your hours worked - - lying is irrelevant to the payment of earned wages. Send them a request for payment in writing and ask them to mail the wages owed to you within 10 days of their receipt of your request.
