Legal Question in Employment Law in Florida

Florida Sales Commission HELP!

I was recently ''let go'' from a company due to changes in the residential building market. My position was terminated 6 days before the end of the month. For the last 3 years of my employment with this company as their TOP sales rep, I have received the same standard commission. We receive our commission on a monthly basis. So my question is... 6 days before the end of the month are they able to change my commission verbally while letting me go and inform me they will only pay me 10% of my normal commission on all jobs they have been completed rather than the standard amount?? Also, I was let go before the end of the month when the rest of my jobs would be ''completed''... because the jobs were not 100% completed, my former company is refusing to pay me for them - even though they WILL be paid, they have already been started? ''Conveniently'' they let me go before they had to cut me a big check, and now they are saying I'm not entitled to the commission. Also, is there a difference between work ''completed'' vs. work started/contracted? It is a non-returnable/refundable service. They knew my work would be ''completed'' by the end of the month and let me go 6 days prior to the close! Is this legal???!!! Please help. Thank you

Re: Florida Sales Commission HELP!

You may have a good case for your full commissions. Also, if you were terminated in an effort to deny you commissions, you may have a cause of action there as well if you were the procurig cause of the deal. If you would like to discuss this further, please feel free to call my office.
