Legal Question in Employment Law in Florida

Does the FMLA apply to companies in Florida that have less than 50 employees. And if it does not apply, are they any laws that do regarding my absence for just under 2 months for back surgery and a change in position upon returning? Thank you.

There are state, and local law, similar to FMLA, that might apply to you. You would need to discuss these matters with an attorney familiar with these laws, in the local area where you work, to be sure what other laws, if any, apply to your situation.
