Legal Question in Employment Law in Florida

Upon hiring me, the company owner and the General Manager agreed to pay me a weekly draw versus commission for 60 days until I was established. After 15 days they said "they were pulling the plug" and that "they shouldn't have agreed to it". It was purely based on the amount and nothing more. When I asked if they were firing me or did they want me to stay they wanted me to stay but at an almost 60% reduction in weekly pay. I stayed just to have something coming in until I could find other employment and 4 weeks later they let me go because I went to them asking them for financial help. This action by them caused me severe financial hardship and are they liable to keep the verbal agreement they had initially made with me??
