Legal Question in Employment Law in Florida

Hurt on the Job and paid under the table, what can be done?

I have a friend in Florida who is working to support her 5 month old son. While on the job, something feel on her foot and she was told by the doctor she could not return to work yet. She requested to fill out a W-2 form when she started but was never given one. She has no choice but to work to support her son. She requested that her employer pay for her bill and her time off and was denied because she is not on the books. What are her rights and does she have any case?
