Legal Question in Employment Law in Florida

Labor and Wages

If I am on-call, do not receive an hourly pay and my employer tries to control my schedule (by not letting me leave when there are no massages to do) and makes me ''wait'' around for a service and has me do duties (stocking, cleaning, etc.) am I entitled to a compensation? This is an important matter to many of us. Thank you for your time.

Re: Labor and Wages

In most cases an employer must pay for an employee to be "on call". Call the Wage and Hour division of the Dept of Labor or look them up on www.dol.gov.
