Laws regarding Job Abandonment

Are there any laws regarding job abandonment. Or is it left up to the employer to decide what they consider it to be?

Re: Laws regarding Job Abandonment

There is no express statute or law governing "abandonment." For purposes of Florida's unemployment statute, if you simply fail to show up for work (repeatedly) then you will likely be viewed as having left your job without good cause attributable to the employer and then face being excluded from unemployment benefits.
