maternity leave

as an employer, small business 4 w-2 employees, if employee is pregnant and put on bed rest what am I as the employer obligated to give as leave or continued employment

It depends upon many factors, including the county and city in which you operate. The main federal and state laws that govern your business in this arena should not apply to you based on how you described your business size, but there are snakes. It appears your company is too small to be covered by the Family Medical Leave Act or the Pregnancy Discrimination Act. Does your employee handbook speak to this issue? I suggest you handle this as you would any short term disability. What would you do if any employee had a heart attack? Every company should have an attorney they can call for issues like this. A consultation with an attorney is recommended.
