Legal Question in Employment Law in Florida

cant get paid

Ive been workin 4 an a/c company in florida for about a year now. My boss has been payin on time normaly. He has gotten three weeks behind in my pay if not more. I have no record of the hours i worked. Does this mean i have no chance of recovering any money? Do i need a lawyer to resolve this situation?

Re: cant get paid

There are a number of statutes in Florida and federal law which protect you. You are entitled to be paid, and if he is not paying you you need to retain an attorney. These types of cases are usually handled on contingency, meaning you don't pay hourly, but rather only after you receive a settlement.

Have you asked them? You may not need a lawyer. The fact that you don't have your hours does not mean you can't sue, but it does make it harder. Start keeping track.
