Legal Question in Employment Law in Florida

I recently was accused of damaging a wall accidentally at a customer's house. I am the helper of the installer that actually did the damage. He blamed me. The company is reducing my pay for damages even though they are insured. They are also deducting money from the installers pay. I am an employee of the company. They withhold taxes, etc... I have NOT signed an agreement that says that I will pay for any damages. They took over $500 from me so far, then they fired me when I protested that I would file a complaint with DOL. They are saying that they are firing me for poor work, however, I have never had a complaint or written warning, etc...Is it legal what they are doing to me? What should I do?

Totally illegal. Retain an attorney. Perhaps a few strong words from a good lawyer will get you a check for what you are owed.
