Legal Question in Employment Law in Florida

termination and UE

I was let go for defacment. I wrote on a wall with eraseable ink, and removed myself, others have written on the same wall n the past and all i ever heard the manager say was ''i hope that comes off if not your in trouble''. I was called too the floor before removing all the writting, before i could get back to wipe it off the manager saw the writting and sent a txt asking who did it, i admitted it was me and I then immendently wiped the remaining ink off the wall. 3wks later i was let go. I never had any displinary actions before this; could i use the ''one time mistake or good faith error n judgement'' defence to get my unemployment approved? I was denied and have filed for appeal!

Re: termination and UE

I don't know of any "one free destruction or defacement of property" defense.
