Legal Question in Employment Law in Florida

Wages

I work in a assisted living facility. I work nights and my hours are from 5pm until 7am. I am only paid 60.00 for a nights work. Somehow, since this is a small facility with only six residents, and we are allowed to sleep my paystub always calls these hours bonus. Is this leagal????

Re: Wages

No. You should probably be receiving premium pay of time and half your regular pay, assuming you are working in excess of 40 hrs per week. In either event they are required to pay you at least $6.40 (minimum wage in FL). I routinely handle cases like yours to recover wages for employees wrongfully denied pay by unscupulous employers. I handle these cases on a contingency which means that I only get paid a fee if I am successful in recovering money for you. Feel free to call me for a no obligations free consultation.
