Legal Question in Employment Law in Florida

work weekends

I work for a company that in season we worked on weekends sat and sunday in addition to our m-f schedule...now that it is the end of season, I need to have my weekends back for personal reasons with our daughter who is mentally retarded and handicapped..can I legally ask not to work on weekends but be available if they needed me?

Sure, you can ask. If you are working more than 40 hours a week, they should pay overtime. If they are not doing so, you may wish to consult with an employment lawyer.
