Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Florida

Had to move out of apartment 4/5 months early from a years lease. I had a roommate leave and now I'm getting letters from a collection agency for a few thousand dollars for the rest of the months, but they rented the apartment with in 1 mo of me leaving. What can they do to me.

They will need to file a suit for damages. Until they do so you will be plagued with collection letters.
