Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Florida

I had a roomate, we shared an apartment. We copaid equally, but my name wasn't on the lease nor did we have a roommate contract. Although I kept asking for one, he just keep avoiding the subject. I had share the down payment with him as well, equally. But we never get along, I ended up moving out, how ever he refuses to give me my deposit back. I have proof that I always pay, proof of my down deposit payment, proof that he agreed to give me back my money. It's been over two weeks since I moved out.

If your name is not on the lease, you may be out of luck. You say you have proof. What kind of proof? Written proof? I suggest you take whatever proof you have to a L/T attorney to see if there is any way to get your money.
