Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Florida

My sister is pregnant and takeing care of her disabled boyfriends moter. her boyfriend is the one on the rental agreement. he recently got arrested foe beating my sister up, blackeye, and red marks on her neck from him strangling her. The landlord said theey have a week to get out. They have no mone or jobs. What options do they have? What is squater's right? Just looking for any options to help give them alittle more time to make other arangments. I thought eviction notices had to be 30 days. Any info would be great assistance. thank You!!

If the tenants are violating the terms of the rental agreement or the Law, the LL may give them 7 days notice to stop it or get out. The LL will go to court after that time and a court order will be issued the same day. A Sheriff's deputy will come to the residence and order them to leave.

You would do well to take your sister away from her abusive boyfriend by any means necessary. Take her in and let him fend for himself.
