Legal Question in Legal Ethics in Florida

I was accused of petty theft less than $200 but could not be released and was booked in jail because I am a new resident in Florida without a Florida license (had my California ID). I have bailed out but my work found out I was arrested for petty theft when I didn't show up at work (since I was in jail). I know my records are public, but am not sure if there is a detailed report because it has great evidence. What should I disclose to my work since they are willing to listen to my side of the story. This is my first time (and LAST time) ever, it was such a stupid mistake and I truly regret it. The only other thing is that I have a DUI charge from three years ago on my record in California. My informal probation ends this December but I am not sure if this will affect the case. Will this go on my record and haunt me forever? I heard I am not eligible for expunge since I did have a DUI before. Thank you in advance for your help!
