Legal Question in Legal Ethics in Florida

I contacted an attorney for a free consultation for an auto accident. It was over the phone. They said they'll be sending me paperwork but it never arrived. I called back and was told they were too busy and reffered me to another attorney.

I called my insurance company to ask about my claim. They said they couldnt discuss it be I have an attorney. I told them I didn't

Then 2 days later that law office called me saying that they are in the process of negotiating with the insurance. I told I don't want to be represented by them. Then they want me to send a statement saying not to represent me. I asked for a copy of something where I asked them for representation and she gets an attitude. Is this legal? Was it legal for the 1st attorney to give all my personal info out like that? None of them have any documents signed by me

They certainly should not have handled your case in this manner, bu the easy solution is to simple e-mail them both saying that you never retained them and you do not want them to represent you. I would consult with a lawyer with whom you can have some confidence, however. Such conferences are almost always free.

A written contract is required to handle the contingency case. Advise them they were not properly hired.
