Legal Question in Mediation in Florida

Deposit to purchase furniture

I placed a deposit of $1,500.00 to purchase some furniture. The total cost came to $5,569.00 The sales person hand wrote on the sales slip that the contract was non-cancellable. I did not realize this untill after leaving the store. The next day I went back to inquire about it and tell them this was not acceptable to me. Do I have any recourse on receiving a refund of my deposit if 'non-cancellable was handwritten on the receipt? When I signed the contract I was not made aware of it and was not asked by the sales person to initial this hand written. I also thought I had 72 hours to cancel the transaction?

Re: Deposit to purchase furniture

The contract could not be cancelled whether or not the sales person wrote on the slip or not. There is no three day right to cancel when you buy furniture at a store unless it so states in the contract (which I have never seen).
