Legal Question in Medical Malpractice in Florida

When I was 7 months pregnant with my second child I started having abdominal pain on my right side. I knew it wasn't labor pains. So I went to the ER where the checked me out and did a ultrasound. The doctor sent me home with the diagnosis of "pulled muscle" due to pregnancy and some pain medicine. That evening as I reached down to grab the pill bottle I felt a sharp popping pain. I couldn't move at all. An ambulance took me back to the ER where that night another doctor gave me a CAT scan which showed my appendix had ruptured. They had to do immediate surgery because I was pregnant. The surgeon then warned my that I might lose my unborn son. Luckly, he didn't come and arrived healthy 2 months later. But, I believe if they would have listened to my problems and believed me in the 1st place, all the surgery, 2 weeks in the hospital, and the loss of my husbands income could have been spared. We only have 2 years in Florida to sue for Malpractice. In Feb, it will be 2 years. Can this be considered medical malpractice?
