Legal Question in Medical Malpractice in Florida

A doctor prescribed me a medication without mentioning it wasn't FDA approved. She never told me it could have major adverse effects. I recently became extremely ill and could have died if I didn't stop taking this medication. Because of all this I had to withdraw from a semester of medical school. Is there any legal action I can take?
