Legal Question in Medical Malpractice in Florida

Drug Screening

My wife's pain management doctor did a drug screen without her consent.He found trace of marijuana in her system,and now refuses to treat and talk to her.Is this illegal and if so what is the proper way to handle this.If this is legal could I have an explanation

most pain management people have their patients sign a pledge that they will not use other medications or drugs and a consent for a drug test. It is probably among the paperwork she signed or was given.

It is very important that someone receiving pain management medication not use illegal drugs, which can interfere with the treatement and harm the patient.
