Legal Question in Medical Malpractice in Florida

My grandpa who has Parkinson’s and is disabled in a wheelchair was seen at the hospital for a UTI a week ago. He is cognitively there and alert just muscle issues. When he went to the hospital they gave him oral antibiotics but did NOT change or remove his catheter. Over the next week he got short of breath and symptoms worsened. He went in yesterday and the doctor asked if his catheter had been changed at the first visit so my grandma said no. They put him on IV antibiotics but the infection was apparently too far gone and he passed away that night. Would this be a medical malpractice claim considering the doctors did not remove the catheter when he initially came in for the UTI? Everything I know and have read says that is the first line treatment.

Sorry for your loss. Did grandpa have a spouse? That is the only individual who can bring a claim. If he did then seek advice from a Med mal Attorney.
