Was it a true attempted suicide or just a drug overdose? If it was an overdose, it could be possible to hold the prescribing doctor liable. They have certain responsibilities, as outlined in your husband's narcotic contract. The facts of each case are different, but you should contact a medical malpractice lawyer, who will get your husband's medical records and have them reviewed by an expert physician.

Good luck.
