Legal Question in Medical Malpractice in Florida

My husband had a hip replacement in New York in 2005. We moved to florida on 6/28/2013 He also was diagnosed with MS 17 years ago at the age of 50. The hip replacement was performed by a doctor from Patchogue New York. He was affiliated with Brookhaven hospital in Patchogue, New York His MS has progressed in the last 3 years where he needed a walker. Now he is confined to a wheelchair. Since the hip replacement he has fallen 17 times and his hip was dislocated. Out of the 17 times, he was brought to the same hospital where he got the hip replacement 13 times. Also, 3 other times it was dislocated when we were in Pennsylvania and North Carolina. When me moved to florida, his hip dislocated again and he was brought to Blake Medical Hospital. That is where an orthopedic doctor fixed his hip and told us that something in the origial hip replacement was not positioned correcly. I thought it might be do to his MS, but the doctor said it was probably put in that way. I am concerned that 16 times out of the 17 times his hip located, that after giving him a xray of the hip, no orthopedic doctor saw this except for the one in florida who specializes in redoing hip problems. The 13 times that my husband went to the same hospital that performed the surgery. I cannot believe that no one saw what was wrong. Maybe they were just protecting their own doctors. We have had so many medical bills to pay and not to say what it has done to my husbands depression and to my anxiety. Do we have a case and what lawyers would be involved. NY or Fla?

Impossible to know if you have a case without someone reviewing your medical records. It is a claim in NY in all probability if it exists at all. You may have significant issues with the prevailing statute of limitations.
