Legal Question in Medical Malpractice in Florida

After spouse had surgical procedure on back (hardware L2-L4) May 15, 2008 there has been loss of intimacy in our marriage. Spouse states unable because of procedure, is there any legal action I ast he wife can bring for not being made aware that this was possibly something that could happen?
