Legal Question in Personal Injury in Florida

How is compensation computed?

I was involved in a car accident on 8/21/2001. The other driver was placed at fault. I received a letter from my chiropractor on 11/29/2001, stating that: based on the AMA guides to permanent impairment, he arrived at a 5% impairment whole man. As a result of these injuries, I will continue to experience pain, soreness, and stiffness for which I will need periodic care.

Prior to the accident, my wages were approximately $250/day.

How should compensations be computed to include my lost wages and permanent impairment? Also, travel expenses, medical expenses and pain and suffering?

Re: How is compensation computed?

Attorneys use a host of factors to settle a case. Adding the various costs you described together, taking it out over your lifespan and balancing that off what juries have been awarding on these type of case to come up with a best guess settlement. It also takes into account the attorneys reputation for jury awards. Good luck. Anthony Comparetto, Esq. http://www.helpwithlaw.com 727-328-7900
