Legal Question in Personal Injury in Florida

My daughter was awarded thirty thousand dollars from a lawsuit. she is a minor and all the legalities and the official name on the suit was- my name

for -her name V defendant my question is... they want to issue the check directly to her when she turns 18 (which is in 3 months) i do not want her to have access to that much money, i want the check made out to me so we can invest some and dole it out to her as we see fit.

How can I get the reward issued to me?

The award is not going to be issued in your name. It will either go to her when she turns 18, or it will go into a Guardianship Account to be given to her when she turns 18. The easiest and most cost-effective way for the lawyers to handle this is to simply hold the proceeds until she turns 18, and distribute it to her then.
