Legal Question in Personal Injury in Florida

If I hired an attorney and then it was not working out and I wanted a trial attorney.. He told me he pays the fees of the other attorney out of his portion but then he charged me 60,000 out of 475,000 and kept 190,000... then paid all my medical... How is that to work in the state of florida.. He toook 40 percent and said it was only 33 third and we only had 2 depos and 1 medator? I lost my eye sight and suffered a brain injury and broke my left shoulder ac seperatiion and contracted mercer and almost died because i cant take penicilline

I am sorry to hear about your situation. Check your retainer agreement because it may specify that the fee is 40% if suit is filed, even if you don't go to trial. If you have any further questions, I suggest you ask the attorney and get a disbursement sheet that shows where the money went.
