Legal Question in Personal Injury in Florida

I rent a house from my family in Florida and had it painted. When the painter was spray painting, apparently it got breezy, and the breeze carried particles of pain thru the air and settled on a neighbor's van. She contacted her auto insurance carrier, and they said she could submit the claim subject to her $250 deductible. Then they said they would go after the painter's insurance, and if he had none, they would then go after the homeowner's insurance for the house I'm renting. The painter is not insured, so she wants me to go to the insurance company who covers the house I am renting. I thought this was an "act of nature," so am I or the painter legally responsible?
