Legal Question in Personal Injury in Florida

My son got into a little finder binder with a couple. no apparent damage was done to either vehicle. They were fine at the scene of the accident. After about a month we get a letter in the mail from our insurance company saying that the wife had extensive injuries and she was suing us. they settled and now we are losing our insurance. we just recieved another letter in the mail saying now that they husband is suing as well for $400,000. with many rediculous claims to add to it. is there any way we can counter sue or just scare them out of suing?

A letter is nor a lawsuit, it sounds more like a "demand", and counter suits are only if you have a claim against them resulting from the same accident. In these cases it is best to let your insurance company handle the claims. Even though your insurance company canceled you after the crash they still are required to defend the claims arising out of a crash that occured while you were covered.

Get in touch with the adjuster from your insurance company to find out what they are doing. If you are being sued over and above the amount of your insurance policy then you may want to consider hiring additional counsel that only represents you, but your insurance carrier will also probably hire an attorney.
