My son was killed in a travel trailer, where he lived. on someone's property. I was told I should retain a lawyer. My question is ... should I? Is the property owner liable for his death?

The answer to your question depends entirely on the circumstances of his death and whether someone is responsible for the death. The owner of property is not necessarily responsible for the death of someone on his or her property. A notable exception is when the death is caused by a dangerous condition on the property. Be advised as well that the only person that can bring suit is the personal representative of your son's estate. If he is married, his wife and children would be the survivors under the wrongful death act. I agree with the previous answer. There is no way to know without having more facts. Sometimes negligent security is a possibility, but that requires a very specific set of facts. Your best bet is to contact a lawyer quickly. The sooner you talk to a lawyer, the better they can help you. And consultations are free. You are welcome to call or text me anytime at (407) 383-7290 if you have any questions.

Someone has to be negligent to lead to a claim. You don't provide sufficient information to assess this. Seek legal help. The appointment should not cost you anything
