Legal Question in Personal Injury in Florida

My son 's vehicle was parked in the assigned employee area at the Target where he works. It was hit. Target's video of the parking lot shows another employee hitting the car causing damage. HSon has been advised that Target can not tell him who the employee is. They want to inform the employee and have that person own up to what they did to my son. Is this legal? Can they withhold the knowledge of who hit his vehicle from him? We have a high $1,000 Collision deductible and would much prefer for the person who caused the damage to have their insurance pay for the repairs.

Target does not have to release any information, until compelled by the court. Yes, it is legal what Target is doing. And for the sake of employees it also seems to be the right thing.
