In Florida, an insurance company must disclose the driver's policy information when you request it. The driver may have coverage that surprises you. Also, if the car was owned or co-owned by another person, or if driver lives with a relative who has insurance under a different policy, there may be insurance coverage.

If the other driver does not have insurance coverage, then your own auto insurance should cover the damage to your vehicles (less the deductible). If you were injured, then you cold make a claim against the uninsured motorist coverage on your own policy, if you have this coverage.

Our office is local, and we'd be happy to discuss your options with you. We offer a free initial consultation.
