Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Florida

About 5 years ago I had to short sell my home. Last week we were contacted by a man who stated his employer had purchased our home through the short. He further stated that his employer is a Philanthropist and would like to afford us the possibility of getting. our home back. Is this legal? Can the bank-mortgage company take action against me?

The owner of the home can dispose of it as he chooses. The bank has no say in that process. Have an attorney assist you

You should have an attorney review the situation, including the Short Sale Contract and any approval documents from the bank. Many times in a short sale, the lender will state the seller can't also be the buyer, even through a 3rd party intermediary. If that is what you are worried about and there is no connection between you and the "new" owner, I don't think there should be any concern. I also doubt the bank will even be aware of any new transactions related to the property this many years later.

With that said. I would be very cautions when dealing with anyone reaching out to you unsolicited and claiming to be helping you.
